David Cox Elementary

For those of you who have been around Meck for awhile, you know that David Cox Elementary is a part of our story as a church. In the early days of Meck, David Cox Elementary opened their doors to us and allowed us to meet as a church prior to the building of our physical campus in Charlotte, which is right down the road from David Cox Elementary. David Cox Elementary is a Title 1 school, with many of their students falling below the poverty line. Our partnership with David Cox is helping meet some of the tangible needs of the students and school with items such as hygiene kits, snacks to hand out to students, and extra clothing to have on hand for those students who may need them.

David Cox is also in need of tutors specifically for their pre-K and Kindergarten students. A tutor can make such a big difference in the life of a child; what a cool way to invest in the students at David Cox. The school also needs volunteers for their "Dolphin Store," where students get to use their "Dolphin Dollars" they have earned throughout the month to shop for prizes. The "Dolphin Store" is open from 7:30 a.m. - 8 a.m. once a month. If you are interested in signing up as a volunteer, you will need to fill out the CMS volunteer application and choose "David Cox Road Elementary" as your volunteer school. We would love to be able to serve them in the greatest physical needs, while also giving the students at David Cox someone in their corner, which could be life changing.
