In this year-long series, we'll discuss the core beliefs of various faith systems throughout the world. We’ll talk about evaluating truth claims, we’ll compare and contrast them with Christianity, and we’ll learn how to build bridges with adherents of other religions.This Spring we’ll discuss Islam and Judaism. Over the summer, we’ll tackle Mormonism and Jehovah’s Witnesses, and then we’ll wrap up with Eastern religions, contemporary spirituality, and postmodernism in the Fall.NOTE: This is an online class. Praying for Your Child and Their...

Having a child has been described as having your heart exist outside your body. We worry for them, have hopes for them, and grieve alongside them, but often we aren't in a practice of praying for them. It can be hard to find a balance of praying for our own desires for our kids while still feeling like we are honoring their free will and God's eternal will. In this class, we will explore the role of prayer in a parent's life: how we can articulate our hopes and worries in prayer and simultaneously lay them before God, and how we can build a community practice of praying for the children in our lives that we care for.This class will be held at Meck during the 11 a.m. service. You can register one time and attend whichever classes you are able. Each month we will explore a different topic (outlined below) of prayer and spend time practicing different ways we can pray for our young children, unborn children, teens, foster children, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and adult children.April: FaithMay: CharacterSeptember: SafetyOctober: RelationshipsNovember: Future

The Church (Big Picture Bible Study)

Following the resurrection of Jesus, a strange phenomenon occurred. The small movement of ordinary Jewish men and women that was meant to have been squashed by the death of their supposed Messiah was suddenly transformed into a bold group of witnesses that began a community that would forever change the world. In this 5-week series of the Big Picture Bible Study, we’ll discuss the importance of the Holy Spirit and track the launch and growth of the early Church. We will also meet a man named Paul and talk about how he played a pivotal role in the early church and still continues to impact us today.This class is offered at two separate times: Thursdays, beginning May 30 at 10 a.m., in person and live streamed (no class on 6/20 or 7/4) Mondays, beginning June 3 at 7 p.m., online (no class on 6/17) *Participants can also opt to receive the class recordings rather than attend the live classes.NOTE: The Big Picture Bible Study is an in-depth, chronological study of the whole Bible. In its entirety, it comprises 10 separate studies spread out over a two-year time frame. "The Church" is the eighth study in the series, but new students will get caught up in the first week.

Team Life is designed to teach you about Meck and what makes up our DNA—our mission, vision and values. It also serves as our membership class where you can learn more about joining our mission to help spiritual explorers become fully devoted followers of Christ.Meck is made up of people from many different spiritual backgrounds; some with extensive church backgrounds, others who are brand new to church and many in between. Knowing this, we designed the class to clearly explain the history and heart of Meck, and what it means to be a member.There are both online and in person options for this class.

Big Bible Stories (Kindergarten - 1st Grade)

Have you ever tried to wrap your brain around how big Goliath was? Or what the wall of Jericho looked like? During this class, we will bring some of the biggest Bible stories to life to give kids a concrete idea of how amazing our God actually is!NOTE: This class is designed for the grade your child will be in Fall 2024.

CREW Training Camp (2nd - 3rd Grade)

Kids will learn to dance and worship from the CREW team they see each weekend in MecKidz.NOTE: This class is designed for the grade your child will be in Fall 2024.

The Purpose and Practice of Prayer

The fact that we can talk to God is pretty amazing when you think about it. But the mechanics of speaking to someone we cannot see can seem awkward at times. Is God even listening? What am I supposed to say? Should I be waiting for some kind of reply? In this in-person class, we'll spend three consecutive days learning about prayer and various prayer practices, and then we'll also carve out time to workshop what we're learning.
